This week I was called to use the Rider-Waite Tarot deck. I pulled the major arcana card – The Star. I don’t know about you, but this card is gravely needed in my life right now. The Star follows the Tower in the deck, which is a time of abrupt change. In the Tower, we go through a major eruption and transformation. While I feel that we are still in the throws of this change, there is also another layer that is emerging/existing parallel to the chaos. The Star is the calm and peace after/during the storm. It is symbolized by hope, joy, and optimism. Now if you look around you or watch the news at all, things may seem more dire than ever. But, we need to ask ourselves, do we want to add fuel to that fire? How does adding fear, anger, frustration, hate or anxiety contribute to this situation? Can we still be informed without becoming embroiled in it?
I will admit that I was doing really well at this until a few days ago. I found myself getting sucked into the whirlwind of chaos. Today, though, I sent healing light to president Trump and his advisors and felt all the discordant energy dissipate. If we take a really eagle eye view and look at this from the place that we are all one, Trump is an aspect of self that is in need of healing. The Sun is reminding us to reflect and take an inward gaze, to focus on the light within.
So this week I have two meditation suggestions for you. 1. Light a candle and sit silently with it. Focus on the flame for several minutes and then close your eyes. Maintain the flame in your third eye and then also imagine the flame in your heart. Be with your inner light. Find your peace. 2. Imagine sending and holding Trump and his advisors in healing light. Watch how that shifts your energy. You can also do this with anyone else you are having a hard time with. This is how we build compassion.
